Booking & Payment

How do I book Luminous Beauty?

Booking is easy! Start by filling out our Quote Estimator (obtain this by filling out the “Contact Us” form above) with the services you know you'd like. Once submitted, click “Accept Quote” to begin the booking process.

We will prepare your personalized contract and invoice and email them to you for secure e-signature and payment.

A 50% non-refundable deposit and signed contract are required to reserve your date.

What is your payment policy?

All wedding and special event bookings require a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve your date and team. Last-minute wedding bookings (within 30 days) require payment in full at the time of booking.

The remaining balance is due 15 days prior to the event date. A 3% late fee may apply to overdue balances, and services cannot be performed without payment completed in advance.

Day-of add-on services may be paid via credit card, cash, or Venmo, when time and staffing allow. We do not accept checks.

Can I book a trial before reserving my wedding date?

Absolutely! Trial runs are available before booking.

However, we do not hold dates without a signed contract and deposit, so if your wedding date is in demand, waiting for a trial may risk losing availability.

We recommend booking your wedding first and scheduling your trial shortly afterward whenever possible.

Travel & Location

Do you travel to me?

Yes!

We offer complimentary on-site travel within 15 miles of Semple Mansion (100 W Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404) for qualifying groups.

For on-location bookings, we require:

5-person minimum for Hair services
5-person minimum for Makeup services

Smaller parties may still be accommodated depending on schedule availability or may be invited to our studio.

Travel fees apply for:

  • Locations beyond our complimentary range

  • Smaller parties

  • Early departures

  • Extended travel

  • Overnight destinations

What forms of payment do you accept?

Deposits and final payments may be made securely online by credit card via invoice.

Wedding-day add-ons may be paid by:

  • Credit Card

  • Cash

  • Venmo


Do you offer trial runs for bridesmaids or family members?

Yes! Trial runs are available for anyone in the wedding party.

Trial pricing is the same as wedding-day service pricing.





How far do you travel?

We travel throughout Minnesota and beyond — including destination weddings.

Our team has traveled as far as Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our couples.

Standard travel fees are:

  • $35/hour per Team Member

  • $0.90/mile round trip

Driving distances generally max out around 2.5 hours each way.

Long-distance weddings may require:

  • Early departure fees

  • Meal fees

  • Overnight accommodations

  • Separate hotel rooms for team members

Wedding Day Logistics

How many people can you accommodate?

We maintain a large and experienced team and can generally accommodate up to 20 beauty services on wedding day.

Larger groups are possible with adequate notice and staffing availability.

We recommend booking early for large parties.

How long do hair and makeup services take?

Timing varies depending on hair length, density, desired style, and service complexity.

General wedding-day timing guidelines:

Wedding Makeup

  • Bridal Makeup: ~60 minutes

  • Attendant Makeup: 30–40 minutes

Wedding Hair

  • Bridal Hair: ~60 minutes

  • Attendant Hair: 35–45 minutes

Event and editorial styling may require additional time.

Our senior artists may work more quickly, while junior team members may need additional time to ensure beautiful results.

Will you provide a wedding day beauty schedule?

We take a practical, flexible approach to wedding morning beauty flow.

After years of wedding experience, we've learned that highly detailed minute-by-minute beauty schedules rarely reflect how real wedding mornings unfold. Getting-ready spaces are dynamic, and factors like readiness, hair complexity, outfit timing, photography, and last-minute changes can affect the flow of services.

Instead of assigning rigid appointment times for each individual, we work from an organized service order and coordinate closely with you, your planner, photographer, and wedding party to ensure everything moves smoothly.

Our priority is simple:

  • Keeping the morning calm and efficient

  • Working in a logical service order

  • Making sure key members of the party are ready when needed

  • Ensuring the Bride receives dedicated finishing time and is guaranteed to be ready by the agreed-upon time

We finalize beauty logistics approximately 6 weeks before the wedding and guide the process throughout the morning so you can focus on enjoying the experience — not watching the clock.

Do all Luminous Beauty teams follow identical timelines?

Not necessarily.

Every Luminous Beauty Artist and Stylist works with slightly different pacing and techniques.

Your beauty timeline is customized to your selected team and wedding-day needs to create the smoothest possible experience.

Can I book hair only or makeup only?

Of course!

While we love working as a full beauty team, you are welcome to book:

  • Hair only

  • Makeup only

  • Or both

We tailor services to your specific needs.

Do I need five people for both hair and makeup?

For on-location travel, yes.

Because Hair Stylists and Makeup Artists specialize, we require:

  • 5-person minimum for Hair

  • 5-person minimum for Makeup

Smaller parties are often accommodated at our Semple Mansion studio or may be added before or after a larger wedding if you have scheduling flexibility. We can travel on-site for smaller parties, with travel compensation for our Team Members.

Do I have to book airbrush makeup or lashes?

Nope!

We offer a la carte pricing, allowing you to customize your beauty experience and only pay for what you truly want.

Your wedding isn't one-size-fits-all — your beauty services shouldn't be either.

Health, Safety & Policies

What are your sanitation practices?

Cleanliness and sanitation have always been core to how we work.

For every client we use:

  • Freshly sanitized brushes

  • Deep-cleaned tools

  • Separate used-implement containers

  • Professional-grade disinfecting protocols

We do not spot-clean tools between clients.

All implements are fully sanitized before returning to rotation using C3 – Cosmetology Complete Care Disinfectant and professional salon sanitation standards in accordance with MN Cosmetology Laws & Rules.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

Because we reserve your date and team specifically for your event, deposits are non-refundable.

However, if circumstances require rescheduling, we will do our best to transfer services to a new available date.

Additional travel or pricing adjustments may apply if event details significantly change.

What happens if someone wants to add services on the wedding day?

We love surprises… just preferably the good kind.

Day-of add-ons are welcome when timing and staffing allow, and must be paid at the time of service.

Availability cannot be guaranteed, so we encourage finalizing services in advance whenever possible.
